Critiques
I was looking through your other shots of this Dane, and I was looking for a specific shot. This one is it.
Black and white outdoor stuff has a tendency to over-expose, and that's what I was seeing until I hit this one.
This shot has excellent detail in the fur, and the exposure leaves enough of the dark there that she (?) really pops against the background, which is difficult in a b+w shot, since the tones are limited. Not to mention that the focus is just right.
Incidentally, I love how you caught that sort of quiet dignity that you can sometimes see in dogs that let's you know there's more to them than just... running and sleeping and pooping. It's a great portrait of a beautiful dog.
